Business Model

NRPPL by adopting the ‘Developer Model’ was able to achieve better Plant Load Factors (PLF). The ‘Developer Model’ involves identification of potential sites; preparing the Monitoring Plan for Wind Resource Assessment; carrying out the Wind Resource Assessment using Met Masts of suitable heights; Selection of Technology; Micrositing; Obtaining all the statutory approvals at local, state and central level; Development of necessary Civil Infrastructure; Development of necessary Electrical Infrastructure; Coordination with Equipment Suppliers during erection & commissioning; Coordination with OEMs while performing the operation & maintenance activities & managing the power sales. In one of its projects, NRPPL has taken up the Tower Manufacturing Activity for 1.5 MW WTGs on its own.

NRPPL was awarded for the “Highest investment made in establishing Wind farms in Individual capacity” during the year 2003 by Government of Karnataka through the Department of energy and the nodal agency for the renewable power Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL).

NRPPL’s 27.65 MW Jagalur Wind Farm has been awarded with the “Best Operating Wind Farm for the year 2006-07” by the Indian Wind Power Association (IWPA).
